Fountain show entertains Jinan visitors

Visitors to Jinan, Shandong province were treated to a musical fountain show at the city's Daming Lake on April 16.

The grand live-action water show, which involves fountains, music, lights and performances on boats, is based on the city's rich culture, long history and beautiful natural scenery. It has been created to promote the development of Jinan's tourism industry, with the hope that the city will develop into a world-famous tourist destination.

The fountain show will later return for more performances and be staged from 8 pm to 8:30 pm every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Tickets cost 120 yuan ($17.40), 90 yuan or 60 yuan, and can be obtained through the show's official WeChat account: gh_6caf012153b6 or on-site at the east and southwest gates of Daming Lake Scenic Area.

In addition to the show, tour buses traveling around the banks of the lake, and one-day tours of Jinan will also be launched to further promote the city to tourists.

The musical fountain show started with a trial run last year, with shows every Tuesday and Thursday since April 26. By Nov 8, it had run for 55 performances and attracted more than 54,000 visitors. It has since become a mainstay of the city's night economy.
