Yangzhou film wins global award

The Yangzhou film "Romance of a Noble Man" won the award of Best Musical Movie at the Universe Multicultural Film Festival held in Los Angeles on April 7.

The film tells the story of Xie An, a famous politician of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420), in the form of Yangzhou opera.

Yangzhou opera is a traditional local opera which originated in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province. It was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.

According to Li Zhengcheng, who plays the lead role in the film, in addition to its artistry, the film's themes of harmony and peace also contributed to the film's success.

The Universe Multicultural Film Festival, held annually in the United States, focuses on showcasing diverse cultural films, supporting the creation and advancement of innovative and artistic cinematic works by both emerging and seasoned filmmakers.
