The Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge, which is located in Zhenjiang, has a length of 6.4 kilometers and a span of 1,092 meters.

The upper level is designated for vehicles and has eight tracks with a maximum speed of 100 km/h, while the lower level has four railway lines with a top speed of 250 km/h.

The construction work is also expected to be completed by 2020, reducing travel time between Lianyungang and Shanghai from 11 to three hours.

China has made great achievements in the construction of high-speed railway bridges, with fruitful results in theories, structural design, engineering, construction and equipment manufacturing, said Lu Chunfang, chairman of the China Railway Society, at the forum.

By the end of 2018, the country had built more than 30,000 high-speed railway bridges with an accumulated distance of over 160,000 km, accounting for more than two thirds of the world's total.
