Jinan's first marathon to be held in November

Jinan, capital city of East China's Shandong province is to hold the 2019 Spring City (Jinan) Marathon, the first international marathon event in the city, on November 3, according to an announcement at a recent press conference.

Hosted by the Jinan municipal government and carried out by the Jinan sports bureau, the event will have a full marathon, half marathon and mini marathon and is expected to attract around 20,000 participants.

The event is being prepared in accordance with A1 event standards laid out by the Chinese Athletics Association and will offer a bonus award of no less than 500,000 yuan ($74,626).

As Jinan's first marathon, the event will highlight the city's spring culture. The course will start from Spring Park and pass through Baotu Spring, Daming Lake and Qianfo Mountain before ending at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center.
