The 15th Strait Travel Fair is scheduled to be held in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province from April 19 to 21.
Numerous businesses from the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone will be attending the fair, showcasing the city's unique tourism resources.
The Pingtan pavilion, situated in the C4 section, will cover an area of 272 square meters. Various attractions including a magic show and a food fiesta will be available.
It is worth mentioning that Pingtan Tengpai dancing, a local intangible cultural heritage, will be staged as well.
Tengpai is a kind of cane shield, which became a popular alternative to armor during the campaigns against pirates in southern China of the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Over the centuries, the shield evolved into a prop local people use in traditional dances.
Meanwhile, visitors to the Pingtan pavilion will be given some gifts including tickets to attractions and hotel coupons.
