Jiangsu Provincial Hospital

Jiangsu Provincial Hospital is also known as the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University, Jiangsu Clinical Medicine Research Institution or the Red Cross Hospital of Jiangsu. It has a history of 82 years and was originally the Clinic Affiliated with Jiangsu Medical College.

At present, the hospital is the best and biggest comprehensive hospital in Jiangsu province, taking charge of four central roles for the whole province: medical treatment, medical teaching, scientific research and hospital ethics activities.

The hospital currently occupies about 410,000 square meters, with 270,000 sq m of construction area. The amount of fixed capital of the hospital is about 2 billion yuan ($297.71 million). There are 3,000 beds in the hospital, and more than 5,000 employees.

The hospital has a national key discipline which is cardiology, along with 18 key clinical specialties at national level and five provincial clinical research centers. Clinical medicine is the leading discipline among the colleges and universities in Jiangsu.

As the largest clinical teaching base of Nanjing Medical University, the hospital has the First Clinical Medical School, with seven medical specialties and 47 teaching and research sections.

The hospital is active in foreign exchanges and has established friendly and cooperative relationships with hospitals, departments and laboratories in countries such as the United States, Japan, Korea, Canada, Australia and Italy.
