The 2019 Snooker World Cup will take place from June 24 to 30 in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, Wuxi Daily reported on April 10.

The third time Wuxi has hosted the World Cup since the competition was revived in 2011, a total of 24 teams from 23 countries and regions will take part.

In 2011, top Chinese snooker players Ding Junhui and Liang Wenbo teamed up to claim the first World Cup title for China in Wuxi.

Chinese rising star Yan Bingtao and Zhou Yuelong distinguished themselves in 2015 as they defeated John Higgins and Stephen Maguire in the final as China's B team at the age of 15 and 17 respectively.

This year, as the host, China will send two teams and the top two Chinese athletes on the world ranking will team up.

There is $800,000 in prize money up for grabs. The winner will take home a whopping $200,000 this year.

Wuxi city in Jiangsu province has been one of the keenest promoters of snooker in China and has hosted high-level snooker events since 2008.
