Tianjin Binhai International Airport is located in the city’s Dongli district. It is 13 kilometers from downtown Tianjin, 30 km from Tianjin Port and 134 km from Beijing.
The airport was opened in 1950 and expanded in 2007 and 2014. By 2017, the airport had a construction area of 364,000 square meters and a warehouse area of 74,000 sq m. Tianjin Airport offers more than 180 airlines, including 131 domestic and 49 international ones, and has flights to 132 cities around the world.
The T-shaped Terminal Building One covers 116,000 sq m. It handles an annual throughput of 100 million passengers and consists of two floors, with the first floor for arrivals and the second for departures.
Terminal Building Two is on the east side of Building One, and has two underground floors. The building has an annual transport capacity of 150 million passengers.
Airport passenger buses go to downtown Tianjin and Tianjin Railway Station. With five public transport lines reaching the downtown area and Binhai New Area, the airport is also connected to Beijing by long-distance coaches. There is a well-developed highway network around the airport, and passengers can enjoy convenient travel to various places in and outside Tianjin.
