Guiyang was listed as a big data tracking city by DTZ, a global leader in property services, on April 2. DTZ will track the developing process of Guiyang through big data technology to provide its regular market reports.

Topics revolving around urban renewal, business development, as well as industrial transformation and upgrading were discussed during a salon hosted by DTZ in Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province, on April 2.

According to Zhang Yupeng, general manager of DTZ West China, there are 34 cities in China tracked by the research department of DTZ, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, and other major cities. Guiyang has since become the 35th city to be included in DTZ's efforts.

DTZ believes that Guiyang is striving to become an influential international metropolis, a trading hub for medium and high-end consumption, as well as a manufacturing city. The business market of the city is becoming more diversified and traditional businesses are facing a transitional period. Multiple business centers are emerging and abundant brands are trying to enter the local market.

By the end of 2018, the total area of high-quality retail real estate in Guiyang has reached 1.9 square kilometers. Additionally, data shows that last year was the supply peak of its high-quality commercial real estate, with an annual increase of 493,000 square meters. To date, the city's high-quality commercial market has maintained positive momentum, with an average vacancy rate of 4 percent.
