Jenny McKay, councilwoman of Sunshine Coast in Australia, visited Xiamen, Fujian province from April 2 to 6 with the aim of promoting the two cities' cooperation in various fields.

Lin Na, deputy inspector of Xiamen's Foreign Affairs Office, explored further exchanges between Xiamen and Sunshine Coast in culture, sports and trade with the Australian councilwoman.

McKay thanked the Xiamen office for its support of the two cities' exchanges and cooperation.

She hoped that Xiamen and Sunshine Coast will take the opportunity of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of sister-city relations between them to promote their relations to a new level.

McKay visited local communities to inspect their infrastructure and cultural activities during her stay in Xiamen and plans to organize a delegation of Sunshine Coast citizens to experience Chinese community culture in the city.

Sunshine Coast, as its name might suggest, is a coastal city on the Pacific Ocean in Southeast Queensland that enjoys year-long sunshine. It ranks as the 10th largest metropolis in Australia and the third largest in Queensland in terms of population.
