Hongta Liaoning Tobacco Co Ltd was founded in December 2003. It currently has 2,200 employees and two factories in Yingkou and Shenyang with an annual production capacity of 600,000 cases.

The cigarette factory in Shenyang has a history of more than 90 years. It is equipped with advanced production and testing facilities from the UK, Germany, and Italy.

The company owns brands such as "Renmin Dahuitang (the Great Hall of the People)", "Lan Ling (Blue Plume)", "Shenyang", "Liang Chen (Good Time)", "Da Shenchan (Mass Production)", and "Lishi (Strong Man)". The soft-packed "Renmin Dahuitang" was the only brand from Liaoning province to be included on the list of the most valuable cigarette brands in China in 2003. This brand is also recognized as a "national first-rate cigarette", a "famous Liaoning province brand" and a "famous trademark of Liaoning province". In 2004, it was included in the National TOP 100 Cigarette Brands catalogue.
