Heilongjiang in Northeast China, a province which boasts many facilities for athletics training and development, has vowed to impose zero tolerance on drug cheating in any sports competition.

To deliver on the promise, an anti-doping center was established in its capital city of Harbin on April 1, to strengthen supervision on the use of any prohibited substances and to track down cheats.

The immediate priority of the center is to make preparations for the second China Youth Games— which will be held in Shanxi province this September — and for next year's 14th National Winter Games, to be held in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

At a meeting attended by around 800 athletes, coaches and logistics support staff from Heilongjiang's sports training bodies on April 1, Wang Xinzhai, director of the Intelligence and Investigation Division of the China Anti-Doping Center, delivered a speech on anti-doping.
