Mongolian drama wins top prize in tourism industry

Qiangu Masong, a drama produced by the Inner Mongolia Bureau of National Arts Troupe, scooped the China Best Tourism Performing Arts Award at the Eighth China Tourism Investment ITIA Awards ceremony held in Beijing on March 22.

The award, initiated in 2011, is recognized as the top prize for the performing arts in the tourism industry.

A work in praise of thousands of years of equine culture, the drama made its debut in 2014. It focuses on the life of ethnic Mongolian groups and their close relationships with horses.

This stunning show involves nearly 150 performing artists and 100 horses, presenting audiences with magnificent dances and songs.

It is directed by Mu Qing, who was general director of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.

The Great China Song Dynasty: Reminiscences of the Eastern Capital, produced by an arts group from Kaifeng in Henan province, also won the China Best Tourism Tourism Performing Arts Award during the ceremony.
