Pingtan Impression, a new dance drama produced by renowned Chinese dancer and choreographer Yang Liping, was staged at Shengjing Grand Theater in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, on March 20, attracting a large audience.

The performance, which ran for 100 minutes, tells stories from Pingtan, an inland city in Fujian province. The production uses the medium of dance to depict the city's culture and some of its artistic traditions.

Since its debut in Fuzhou last January, it has been staged in around 20 cities across the country, attracting more than 50 million viewers. And for 2019, 55 performances are scheduled.
