Hangzhou film production companies debut at Hong Kong FILMART

More than 20 film production companies from Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province made debuts at the 23rd Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART), which was held from March 18 to 20.

With over 100 film and television works in different genres, it marks the eighth consecutive year that Hangzhou has set up an independent exhibition in the largest film and television market in Asia.

Major achievements in Hangzhou's cultural and creative industries in recent years were highlighted, including the China International Cartoon and Animation Festival, Hangzhou Cultural & Creative Industry Expo, and MIP China Hangzhou International Content Summit, the first event marking the Cannes-based MIP's expansion into Asia.

Hangzhou has been participating in the FILMART for years, aiming to raise the international profile of the city by promoting Hangzhou-made film works, projects cooperation and talent exchanges through the event.

The FILMART, in its 23rd edition this year, attracted over 880 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, 390 of which are from countries involved the Belt and Road Initiative, including Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Poland, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam, who hope to expand into the Chinese mainland and international markets through Hong Kong.
