An intelligent project jointly launched by Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Area and Chinese mapping service provider Amap was launched in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on March 19.

Covering an area of 60 square kilometers, the project aims to provide visitors with all-round services by utilizing information technology, and make West Lake Scenic Area the largest digital tourist attraction in China.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a one-stop service by inputting the intelligent tour in Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Area on the map app Amap, with information about catering, accommodation and transportation will all be presented.

For example, visitors will have an easy access to information of the number of parking lots and charging standards just by clicking the parking lot location icon on Amap; they can also choose their favorite star voices when listening to the guides at tourist attractions with the digitalized services.

Themed travel guides in Hangzhou are also available on Amap.

The project achieves six major breakthroughs including more accurate data, more authoritative information, more intuitive experience, richer content, and more welcoming services, according to a local official.

Amap will take Westlake Scenic Area as a good example and strive to create 100 intelligent scenic spots in 2019 in China, in a bid to provide more convenient and better services for international guests during the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, said Liu Zhenfei, president of Amap.
