A skiing skills competition, targeting people who want to become ski instructors, took place in the Maoer Mountain Ski Resort on March 10.

The competition comprised two sections — a skiing theory knowledge test and snowboarding and skiing.

More than 300 participants attended the event to compete for the ski instructor's qualification.

Officials said that compared with previous competitions, this year was the biggest professional skills test held in Heilongjiang. The number of participants hit a new record, and the evaluation criteria were higher than previous years.

Participants who passed the assessment now have opportunity to instruct beginners to learn and improve their skiing skills, helping more people participate in ice and snow sports.
