The 40-day Spring Festival travel rush, which started on Feb 21, came to an end in Nanyang on March 1. The city processed 11.85 million travelers, offering them a safe and comfortable travelling environment.

Throughout the travel rush, a total of 923,000 people traveled to or from Nanyang by rail. The coach station received 10.8 million passengers boarding 3,388 vehicles, which was around the same as last year. Another 170 coaches were reserved for backup in downtown areas and counties of Nanyang. The Nanyang Jiangying Airport received 122,800 passengers on 1,221 flights, a year-on-year increase of 14.11 percent.

Nanyang also added 11 temporary coaches to cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, and Chengdu. The travel environment was heavily improved with renovated toilets in coach stations and services like automatic ticketing machines and self-service check-in offered at railway stations.

Throughout the week-long holiday, Nanyang offered a transportation hotline with 24-hour service to ensure that travelers could receive help whenever they needed it.

Nanyang Jiangying Airport also offered huge discounts on tickets to help passengers strapped for cash reunite with their families for the holiday.
