Nantong agricultural firms make national list

A total of 13 Nantong firms have been included on a list of the top 500 agricultural businesses in China this year, according to information released by the city’s federation of industry and commerce on March 6.

The companies are involved with producing a wide range of agricultural products, including flowers, silk, oil, sea food, and processed meat, as well as livestock and poultry farming.

The World of Plantings in Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, is listed first among the 13 companies, ranking 34th overall.

The list was produced by Farmers' Daily newspaper following evaluations of firms in 31 provinces based on annual revenues, with the threshold to be eligible for consideration set at 670 million yuan ($99.96 million).
