Binhu to implement 148 major projects in 2019

Wuxi's Binhu district plans to implement 148 major projects exceeding 50 million yuan ($7.46 million) this year, including 73 new ones, with investment totaling 38.26 billion yuan.

The planned investment for 2019 was 11.89 billion yuan, and the first group of 41 projects began construction after Spring Festival.

Among the 148 major projects, 28 are advanced manufacturing ventures with a total investment of 6.38 billion yuan, including a Wuxi research and development base for a deep-sea space station, a production base for high-end aviation equipment and core automotive parts, and another for special paper containers of Fangcheng Colour Printing & Packing.

Over 15 billion yuan has been invested in 17 commercial service projects, among them the headquarters of WuXi Apptec for new drug research, the Baoguang intelligent big data center and a Wuxi data port industrial base.

The district will promote a number of livelihood projects with high standards in the fields of ecological environment management, public facilities, and improvements to the regional road network.
