Tang noted that both Shenzhen and Hong Kong are world-renowned industrial innovation centers while having space to do more in scientific innovation. In terms of biological medicine and life sciences, scientific innovation is more significant than industrial innovation.

He added that in the future, the Greater Bay Area should pay more attention to scientific innovation development by fully utilizing and integrating research resources from universities in the area for more bio-pharmaceutical and cutting-edge medical achievements independently researched and developed by themselves.
