Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone

With a developed area of 34.5 square kilometers, Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone is located at the center of a triangle formed by the main urban area of Kunming city, the Chenggong district of Kunming and the Kunming Changshui International Airport.

The zone has developed an industrial cluster covering equipment manufacturing, electronic information, bio-pharmaceuticals, food and beverages and tobacco processing.

In 2015, the zone achieved a gross revenue of 132 billion yuan ($19.67 billion), up by 12.34 percent year-on-year; a total industrial output of 40.4 billion yuan, an increase of 5.76 percent from the previous year; an industrial added value of 11.7 billion yuan, up by 9.47 percent year-on-year and a local government budget revenue of 2.98 billion yuan, up by 9.55 percent from the previous year.

The zone has become the largest new industrialization base and an important platform for investment attraction and foreign trade in Yunnan province, playing an increasingly leading role in the economic development, industrialization and urbanization of Yunnan province and Kunming city.
