The Chongqing Export Processing Zone was set up under the approval of the State Council on June 15, 2001 and officially came into operation on Aug 28, 2002.
The zone is located in the northern part of the Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a planning area of 2.8 square kilometers. In close proximity of the zone are four expressways and it is six kilometers away from downtown Chongqing, nine km from the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, one km from the Longtousi Railway Station and one km from Cuntan Port.
Advantageous location and convenient transportation make the zone ideal for export processing enterprises to invest.
The zone boasts 28,000-square-meter standard factory buildings and 1,000-sq-m supervision warehouses and outdoor inspection grounds. Enterprises in the zone can enjoy preferential policies including those on tax. The zone prioritizes industries such as electronic information, biomedicine and fine and new materials.
The zone aims to build itself into an industrial park that provides companies with efficient and convenient services.
