Ningguo Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved to be set up in 2000 and was upgraded to a national-level industrial zone in 2013. It has won many honorary titles over the past years, including the province's top 10 zones and parks with the most optimal investment environment, the provincial innovation zone, the provincial industrialization demonstration zone and the provincial intellectual property rights demonstration zone.
After more than 10 years of development, the zone has improved its industrial structure and now forms three pillar industries - auto parts, electronic components and wear resistant castings. It also focuses on the development of emerging industries such as energy conservation materials, new energy application, biomedicine and electronic information.
The zone is now home to more than 550 companies. In 2013, its industrial output value reached 35.18 billion yuan ($5.21 billion yuan), and fiscal revenue reached 1.36 billion yuan.
