Geographical location:

Located in Eastern China, Yangtze River Delta city cluster is a triangle-shaped metropolitan region covering Shanghai, southern Jiangsu province, northern Zhejiang province and southeast Anhui province.

Construction orientation:

The Yangtze River Delta region is expected to become an international-level city cluster with its influence covering the whole Asian-Pacific region and playing a leading role in China.

Economic profile:

The Yangtze River Delta region is one of the most developed areas in China with the highest urban agglomeration. As the most active area in economic development, the city cluster occupies only 2.1 percent of the country’s land area and 11 percent of the population, creating about 20 percent of national GDP.

In 2017, the fixed assets investment of the 26 cities in Yangtze River Delta added up to 9.13 trillion yuan, up 6 percent year-on-year. The total import and export volume of the region reached $781.92 billion.

Development planning:

According to the latest planning approved by the State Council in June 2016, the Yangtze River Delta is expected to make strides towards becoming:
A resource distribution center with the most economic vitality;
A science and technology innovation highland with global influence;
An important center for modern services and advanced manufacturing worldwide;
A significant international gateway to the Asia-Pacific region;
