Total retail sales of consumer goods in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, reached a new high in 2018, according to a recent news report by a local media organization.

Statistics reveal that retail sales of consumer goods in the city hit 70.24 billion yuan ($10.46 billion) in 2018 –– 6.3 percent higher than last year, and 0.7 percent higher than that in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia.

Urban areas of the city notched up 57.33 billion yuan in sales of consumer goods, representing a year-on-year increase of 6 percent; rural areas registered 12.91 billion yuan, an increase of 7.4 percent.

Dalad Banner and Otog Front Banner led banners and districts across the city in terms of the growth rate for total sales of consumer goods, with both reporting rates of 6.6 percent.

With the national economy continuing to grow along with disposable incomes, analysts are predicting a healthy 2019 for retailers in the city.
