Officials from Kangbashi district in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region signed an agreement with representatives from Seazen Holdings for the building of what will be the district’s largest-ever commercial complex, at the company’s headquarters in Shanghai, on Jan 14.

On behalf of the district’s government, Mayor Li Dong put his signature to the new investment deal along with Jin Xin, the general manager of the strategic investment center at Seazen Holdings.

The agreement marks the beginning of an enormous construction project to develop the new commercial area, which will be known as Ordos Wuyue Plaza.

The commercial complex is designed to cover an area of 90,000 square meters, with a full range of modern facilities.

Once the plaza is finished, Kangbashi will be able to boast its first large commercial complex. It is also expected to bring the district tax revenues of between 30 million yuan and 50 million yuan ($7.37 million), providing more than 3,000 job opportunities for local residents.
