Xi’an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital

Xi’an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital (Xi’an Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine), founded in 1955, is one of the earliest TCM hospitals in the provincial capital city, and is also the first approved third-level first class hospital in China and the national model TCM hospital.

The hospital covers an area of 100 mu, with a floor area of 100,000 square meters and 1001 beds. There are more than 1,500 on-the-job staff in the hospital, two famous Chinese medicine doctors, three experts with outstanding contribution enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, four national famous old Chinese medicine experts who inherit and guide the academic experience, six renowned Chinese medicine doctors in Shaanxi Province, 16 renowned Chinese medicine doctors in Xi’an, four experts with outstanding contribution in Xi’an, and a large number of outstanding talents who devote themselves to clinical work, with rich experience with both Chinese and Western medicine technology.

The hospital has 5,383 special medical equipments (pieces) worth 168 million yuan. It has 15 key disciplines (specialties) at all levels: anorectal, nursing as the State Health Planning Commission clinical key specialty, encephalopathy, anorectal, spleen and stomach disease, liver disease, nursing (nurturing) as the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine key specialty, Chinese medicine cardiology, clinical pharmacy, encephalopathy (nurturing), spleen and stomach disease as the Shaanxi Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine key disciplines.
