Ziyang Hi-Tech Industrial Zone

Ziyang Hi-Tech Industrial Zone, also known as China's "Oral Health Valley", was chosen as a pilot zone to support the development along the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

Ziyang Hi-Tech Industrial Zone was established in July 1992 as an economic development area and upgraded in April 2017 as a provincial hi-tech zone. To date, it covers an area of 64.1 square kilometers and is home to a population of about 100,000.

In recent years, the zone has been doubling down on five pillar industries, covering standard rail transport, new energy vehicles, organic food, electronic information, and most importantly, advanced orthodontic devices. Bondent Group and Align Technology are leading the zone's oral health industry.

In 2017, Ziyang Hi-Tech Zone recorded a sales revenue of 30.9 billion yuan ($4.62 billion). From January to October of 2018, the zone's fixed asset investment totaled 7.71 billion yuan, up 11.3 percent year on year.

The revenue is expected to reach 42 billion yuan in 2019 and 50 billion yuan in 2020. According to an early report, there are high hopes that the zone could enter the national level in 2019.
