The 2018 China (Hangzhou) Cosplay Cultural Festival concluded in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Jan 1, attracting tens of thousands of cosplayers from around the country.

Opening on Dec 30, the three-day party brought together a group of cosplay enthusiasts as well as numerous exhibitors and cartoon and animation companies.

Hangzhou is an emerging capital of the cartoon and animation industry with tremendous market potential. As the host of the annual China International Cartoon and Animation Festival (CICAF), which is the largest, most popular and most influential such festival in China, Hangzhou has nurtured a large number of animation lovers for a decade, according to a local official.

"The cold weather didn't keep the crowds outside, the atmosphere here is exciting. We are overwhelmed to see so many fans, and will be more prepared for the CICAF in spring," said an exhibitor from Shenzhen.

Now in its sixth year, the China (Hangzhou) Cosplay Cultural Festival has evolved into another grand animation festival for national cosplayers to add to the CICAF.
