Situated in East China's Anhui province, Chuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone is close to Nanjing and part of the Yangtze River Delta region. Its transportation resources include four highways, four railways and two large airports. Enterprises registered there enjoy the convenient logistics of Nanjing Port, the biggest inland harbour in China.
Established in June 1992 and promoted by the State Council to national level in April 2011, the development zone has incubated three leading sectors: smart home appliances and electronic information, automobile and advanced equipment manufacturing and organic food industry.
Emerging industries, such as information technology, new material, smart manufacturing, green energy vehicles, robotics and biomedicine are have picked new momentum in recent years.
In the first half of 2018, the zone's fiscal revenue totaled 2.3 billion yuan ($334 million), with 29 newly inked 100-million-yuan projects. The regional GDP, added value of industrial enterprises above designated size and export-import volume grew by 12, 14 and 68.5 percent, respectively.
