Changshu Free Trade Zone, previously known as Changshu Export Processing Zone, was set up in 2005 with approval from the State Council, covering an area of 0.94 square kilometers. In 2015, it was approved by the State Council to be upgraded into a free trade zone. Changshu is a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province.
Changshu Free Trade Zone is located in Changshu Economic and Technological Development Zone, next to Changshu Port, with a well-established industrial base and convenient logistics services.
Changshu Free Trade Zone is a special supervision zone integrating the functions of export processing, bonded logistics and ports. It is able to provide services like international transit, distribution, procurement, trade and export processing. All the foreign goods within the zone are bonded, and domestic goods in the zone are seen as exports with tax refunds. Enterprises within the zone not only can have their goods bonded, stored, processed and manufactured, but also carry out foreign trade.
