Zhejiang Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City (Haichuang Park), an innovation and venture platform for overseas high-level talents in Yuhang district of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province issued China's first e-business license for Taobao merchants through its online platform, on Dec 18.

Any Taobao businesses across the country can register and apply for the license on the official website of Taobao City E-commerce Industry Park run by Zhejiang Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City.

"The whole process takes around two minutes," said a local official.

An online clothing store in Yuhang district of Hangzhou received the license.

Home to Taobao City, the headquarter of Alibaba's online shopping arm Taobao, the emergence of Zhejiang Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City has contributed to the development of the city's e-commerce industry. By tapping into the potential of the "internet plus" strategy, which uses information and communication technology to integrate the internet and traditional industries, the new website is designed to make it easier for online retailers to register their e-businesses.
