Zhouzhuang Water Town, Suzhou

Zhouzhuang, situated in Kunshan city only 30 kilometers southeast of Suzhou, is one of the most famous water towns in China. It is noted for its profound cultural background, well-preserved ancient residential houses, elegant watery views and the strong local traditions and customs.
Covering 0.5 square kilometers, 60 percent of its structures were built during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911). Taking the most convenient form of transport in Zhouzhuang, a gondola, visitors can enjoy breathtaking sights one by one.
