Qinhuai River, which is 5 kilometers wide, is the mother river of Nanjing and the cradle of ancient Jinling culture.
The scenic area, centering on the ancient architectural complex of the Confucius Temple, integrates natural and cultural landscapes.
Its attractions include Zhanyuan Garden, one of the top five gardens in Jiangnan area, a region by the southern bank of the lower Yangtze River, during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Bailuzhou Park, Jiangnan Examination Hall, the largest imperial examination site in ancient China.
