In July 1992, the Deqing Economic Development Zone was established in Deqing county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province. It was renamed Zhejiang Moganshan High-tech Industrial Development Zone in February 2015 and upgraded as a national high-tech industry development zone with the approval of the State Council in September the same year.
The zone's planned area is 6.65 square kilometers and is mainly used for the development of biological medicine, high-end equipment manufacturing and electronic information industries.
The zone possesses significant regional advantages. It can reach most of the cities in the Yangtze River Delta area within two hours' drive, including Hangzhou, Shanghai and Nanjing.
Deqing's advanced transport system also helps to strengthen industrial communication between the zone and major cities in southeastern China.
The zone is forging ahead in the smart automobile manufacturing industry, geographical information industry, biomedical industry and general aviation industry. Nearly 200 enterprises above designated size have gathered in the area, including Osmun, Topsun and Huaying Electronics.
In 2016, the industrial value-added of enterprises above designated size in the zone reached 44.42 billion yuan ($6.46 billion). It also generated fiscal revenue of 1.89 billion yuan.
