The Digital Economy Industry Alliance was established in Quzhou, Zhejiang province on Nov 28, according to local media reports.

The newly-built alliance contains 134 member companies, including the Digital Economy Development Institute, the Quzhou branch of China Mobile and Quzhou University.

The alliance is expected to bring together its resources to boost the development of the digital economy in Quzhou, said a spokesman for the local government.

Chen Jie, chairman of the institute, promised to promote the integration of local traditional industries with the digital economy and attract more creative and entrepreneurial talents to Quzhou.

Starting from 2017, Quzhou has focused on the development of the digital economy and introduced numerous leading companies to the area including Alibaba, ZTE Corporation and Netease.

In recent days, the local municipal government also released a document proposing the further development of the cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence industries.

The document also mentioned issuing a maximum subsidy of 100 million ($14.5 million) for related sci-tech research.
