The mainland will continue to share opportunities and achievements with Taiwan, further cross-Straits economic and cultural cooperation, enabling more Taiwan enterprises to obtain benefits, a spokesperson said Wednesday.

Ma Xiaoguang, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, made the remarks when asked about the upcoming 2018 Cross-Straits Entrepreneurs Summit at a press conference.

The summit, since its inception in 2013, has served as one of the most significant non-governmental platforms for cross-Straits business cooperation and exchanges, he said, praising its positive role in boosting cross-Straits industrial integration and the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations.

Taiwan businesses have made tremendous contributions to the mainland's social and economic development while sustaining their own growth, he said, adding that the mainland has increasingly become a magnet for Taiwan compatriots to invest and live over the past 40 years of reform and opening-up.

The summit, scheduled to be held on Dec 3 to 5, expects to gather 1,100 guests from the mainland and Taiwan, which include execs, business organization leaders as well as some representatives from SMEs and startups, according to Ma.
