Ningbo has set a goal of having total revenue from tourism topping 260 billion yuan ($37.5 billion) by the end of 2020, according to an announcement made at the Municipal Tourism Development Conference held on Nov 20.

Goals of having the total number of tourists exceeding 160 million, among which overseas tourists take up 2.2 million of this figure, and the number of international airlines serving Ningbo Lishe International Airport (including airlines to China's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) reaching 15 or above by the end of 2020 have also been set.

To realize these targets, the city will focus on developing all-for-one tourism, a new concept of tourism that highlights the integration of tourism resources with other industries, by establishing demonstration counties and introducing new types of businesses specifically catering for tourism.

Ningbo also plans to build three national all-for-one tourism demonstration zones and five national 5A scenic spots and resorts by 2020, with the projected amount of investment in tourism projects reaching 100 billion yuan.

The city will endeavor to enhance the globalization of its tourism industry, by establishing overseas tourism marketing campaigns around the world, organizing international tourist events, and implementing the 144 hour transit without visa policy, meaning tourists will be able to visit Ningbo for up to 144 hours without having a visa.

The Infrastructure of the city will also undergo improvements to guarantee better services for tourists, with 500 public toilets set to be renovated by 2020.
