A delegation of 23 young legal talents from Macao visited Xiamen in East China's Fujian province, from Nov 14 to 16 with the aim of learning about the city's social and economic development as well as its history and culture.

On the first day of their three-day trip, Lin Na, deputy inspector of Xiamen's Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, explained to the visitors the achievements the city has made since China's reform and opening-up started four decades ago, especially the convenient transport systems by sea, land and air.

Xiamen has grown into a transport hub for the Belt and Road Initiative in China's southeast coastal areas.

During their stay in the city, the delegation members visited the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall where they got to learn about Xiamen's history, economic achievements and its promising prospects. They also admired Gulangyu, a beautiful small island off Xiamen's coast that is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

They also met their counterparts at local law firm Fidelity.

The delegation members all said that the trip helped them to gain a better understanding of the Chinese mainland and its legal framework, and it laid a sound foundation for further exchanges between two sides.
