Online hospital to open in Yangzhou by end of 2018

The online service of Subei People's Hospital of Jiangsu province in Yangzhou is expected to open to the public by the end of the year.

Jiangsu has taken the lead in the construction of online hospitals. In early October, the list of charges for the new hospital's medical services was released.

On the basis of ensuring a high quality service for patients, the online hospital will allow for return visits for common and chronic diseases and provide a remote instruction service.

With support from the existing hospitals, it is expected that the online hospital will not only bring convenience but will also be able to solve every day medical problems for patients. First appointments with doctors must be a face-to-face visit.

"For example, if a patient with high blood pressure needs help in drug adjustment, the patient only needs to log in the online platform and get the proper answers," said Xu Daoliang, director of Subei People's Hospital.

Xu added that further data integration will be carried out to upgrade their online services and benefit local residents.
