The frame of Xiushan Bridge connecting Daishan Island and Xiushan Island in Zhoushan was finally completed on Nov 13, after nearly four years of construction.
Stretching 3.063 kilometers long, it will be the second largest cross-sea suspension bridge in Zhejiang province when it opens next year.
It is another major cross-sea bridge in Daishan county after the previously-built Jiangnan Bridge and Guanshan Bridge, and is expected to shorten the time on the ferry to travel to the main island of Zhoushan from 50 minutes to 10 minutes upon opening.
It is planned that the construction of the bridge will be completely finished by the end of next April, with work needed to be done to finalize its construction including installing supporting facilities and paving the asphaltum road on the bridge.
