Dalian, in Northeast China's Liaoning province, will have replaced all traditional fuel oil buses with new energy ones running in four urban districts before the beginning of 2020, according to the city government.

The four districts are Xigang, Zhongshan, Shahekou and Ganjingzi.

In other areas of the city, the number of new energy buses will account for not less than 10 percent of the total, and the number of newly purchased buses should account for not less than 50 percent of the total.

The city is encouraging all districts to centrally procure new energy buses to reduce procurement costs, and to boost the use of new energy vehicles in taxi services, sanitation, logistics and other fields.

According to the city's plan, all vehicles providing online car-hailing services in the city will be new energy ones before the beginning of 2025.

To promote the use of new energy vehicles, Dalian encourages residents, enterprises and institutions to purchase and use new energy vehicles.

The city has also introduced policies to restrict purchases of traditional fuel oil passenger vehicles.

It is expected that from July 1, 2019, Party and government organizations, institutions and municipal State-owned enterprises in Dalian will increase the proportion of new energy vehicles they use. And when hydrogenation infrastructure is well established, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will be preferred.
