Wuxi enterprises attend China's first import expo

A total of 1,500 enterprises from Wuxi attended the inaugural China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai from Nov 5-10, featuring intelligent manufacturing and consumer goods.

The inaugural CIIE, taking place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), uses combined cooling and heating power provided by Shuangliang Group. 71 booths have been set up at the country pavilions for trade and investment, covering an area of about 30,000 square meters.

Jiangyin-based Shuangliang Group provides leading power systems which can double the efficiency for energy utilization to 88.42 percent.

As the first-ever expo focused on import, the CIIE is China's solution and contribution to the global economy, which is constantly searching for new growth engines, said Wang Bingnan, vice-minister of Commerce.

The six-day event, which commenced on Monday, is expected to not only help China adjust its industry structures and upgrade to meet the growing needs of its people, but also to promote economic globalization and global cooperation.

A total of 172 countries, regions and international organizations from the five continents showcase their development achievements and international image to the world at the CIIE.
