The city of Ordos in Inner Mongolia autonomous region has its first Chinese coin museum after a year’s preparation.

The museum is located in Otog Banner and covers 320 square meters. It is divided into four exhibitions sections: a brief history of Chinese coins, coins from remote ancient times, coins from the Sui and Tang dynasties (518-907), the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), and the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) as well as a section for coins from the Republic of China to the present.

The museum has 10,000 coins in its collection, all of which were donated by Wang Jixiang, a private collector in Otog Banner.

Wang spends more than 30 years acquiring his collection.
