Founded in 1992, Langfang Economic and Technological Development Zone was upgraded to a State-level economic and technological development zone by the State Council on July 20, 2009.
Located between Beijing and Tianjin, the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway runs through it.
The zone strives to develop its four industries of electronic information, mechanical equipment manufacturing, new energy, and modern services. By now, it has attracted more than 1,500 enterprises from over 30 countries and regions.
From January to August of 2018, the zone's actual utilized foreign capital has reached 582.39 billion US dollars; its revenue in the general public budgets totaled 2.1 billion yuan ($304.35 million).
The industrial value added of enterprises with an annual output value above 20 million yuan increased by 5.1 percent over the same period last year. The total export volume reached 3.5 billion yuan and the fixed-asset investment grew by 10.8 percent year-on-year.
