In-depth discussions on education between cross-Straits educational experts took place at the 6th Cross-Straits Education Forum held in Beilun district, Ningbo, from Oct 26 to 27.

Co-hosted by the National Institute of Education Sciences (NIES) and the Beilun government, the forum focused on curriculum reform and student learning and evaluation, as well as improvements in educational leadership.

Over 120 cross-Straits scholars, research experts, school principals and well-known figures supporting cross-Straits educational exchanges and cooperation took part in more than 50 keynote speeches during the two-day event.

They discussed issues regarding curriculum integration, reforms of teaching and learning methods, the latest development trends in smart learning and artificial intelligence, and shared cross-Straits teaching experiences and achievements with the aim of deepening educational cooperation.

The cross-Straits education forum, initiated by NIES in 2012, has been successfully held for five years, and has become an important platform for educational exchanges between cross-Straits experts and scholars.

This was the first time that the forum had been held in Beilun district, or Zhejiang province.

As an experimental zone of NIES in comprehensive educational reforms, Beilun district has made effective efforts in recent years in improving overall education and establishing an education model based on moral education.
