Hekouwan Bridge in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province, opens to traffic on Oct 23. So far, the western extension line project of the South Coastal Avenue has been completed and put into use. The new bridge will improve traffic conditions in the high-tech zone and make it convenient for residents to travel from the zone to the downtown area. The western extension line project, which is 4.76 kilometers long with three lanes in both directions, has three sections: the 1.54-km-long Lingshuiwan connecting road, the 1.56-km-long Qixianling Tunnel, and the 1.66-km-long Hekouwan Bridge.
