BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The top three contenders from last year's regular season all won their respective matches in the CBA's second round on Tuesday.

The round's focal point turned out to be in Shenzhen, where visitors Beijing killed the game in the first double overtime period of the 2018-19 season.

Despite their national team guard Fang Shuo missing the game, Beijing still grabbed a tough victory on the road against Shenzhen. With their signature three-pointers, Beijing took the game away in the last two minutes of the second overtime period and won 111-100.

Guangsha won 108-92 at home against Shanghai. The game saw many turnovers and fast breaks from both sides. The regular season champions claimed an easy lead at 24-18 in the first quarter as Shanghai committed 10 turnovers.

Neither side showed much improvement in positional attacks for the rest of the game. The game continued with few highlights except for Ioannis Bourousis' ejection and Shanghai's astonishing 26 turnovers in 48 minutes.

Powerhouses Guangdong and Liaoning both had a tough start as they trailed in their respective first quarters against Aolong and Shanxi.

Guangdong turned things around in the second quarter with a 42-23 surge and smashed Aolong 131-109, while Liaoning didn't regain the advantage until the third quarter and edged Shanxi 97-93.

Foreign players contributed team-high scores in all four games except Yi Jianlian, who scored 29 points for Guangdong in 29 minutes.

Elsewhere tonight, Jiangsu beat Qingdao 103-101, Shandong overcame Jilin 119-116 and Guangzhou beat Tianjin 105-92.
