Exhibition themed on the Silk Road opens in Dalian

An art exhibition themed around the Silk Road opened at Dalian Modern Museum in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province, Oct 18.

On display are 32 oil paintings and sketches, all by Jamal Joratli, a Greek artist born in 1961, who enjoys great fame in Greece and Arab countries.

The Silk Road series of works has been on display in several countries, such as the United States, Germany, Italy and Greece. They are on show in China for the first time, with the opening  exhibition in Dalian running until Nov 18.

In modern style, the works convey the charm of the Silk Road, featuring Chinese elements such as the Terracotta Warriors, Peking Opera and shadow puppetry.
